Warberg – Höllviken
How the points are delivered on the above mentioned games will of course have a big effect on the ending of it all. Why? Well because when I looked up when the teams have taken points during the season, all four teams have taken very few points when they have played against the teams in their derby groups. And all teams play their games against derby opponents except for 2 games for Karlstad, Höllviken and Thorengruppen and Warberg only has one game outside of the derby group.
Points in the derby groups:
Warberg 11 games 7 points 0,63p/game Outside of the derby groups 13 points
Höllviken 10 games 7 points 0,70p/game Outside of the derby groups 13 points
Karlstad 10 games 9 points 0,9p/game Outside of the derby groups 13 points
Thorengruppen 10 games 7 points 0,7p/game Outside of the derby groups 17 points
So if any of the teams want to stay in the SSL they need to take a lot more points in their derby groups than what they have performed during the fall/winter. And can they gear up and deliver when it’s really needed? If you look to the expectations before the season, Karlstad has definitely had the hardest time that were going to fight for a playoffs spot and were supposed to take another step. They have also been injured/sick during the latest time and had to throw around some things in the team. Warberg who aren’t used to be in the bottom fight and have high expectations from the outside has had a extra tough time mentally. And also a points average which is the worst in the derby groups. Can Ulf and Bagarn make it tip over in their favor in the end fight? Höllviken and TT were expected to be down there and are probably more relaxed in it all. But of course when they are on the field and it’s going to be decided they’re probably equally nervous. It will be incredibly interesting to see who can handle the tenseness and the pressure. And it will be a race until the last minute if I get to guess.
But how will the series end and which teams will have to leave SSL to play in the Allsvenska next year? Well you can twist and turn it many times. But the starting point has been to look at the points average as well as going on some gut feeling. So here comes the placements as I think they will end up:
11. Team Thorengruppen 31p
12. Warberg IC 30p
13. Karlstad 30p
14 Höllviken 28p
I think that Team Thorengruppen will make it and will take the points they need on the home field and they have skills in the front that will be deciding. Between the three other teams it will be tight up until the end. Unfortunately for Höllviken they will get pushed down to the Allsvenska again, they’re simply too weak. And it will be between Warberg and Karlstad in who will take the last place in SSL for next year. And they will end up on the same points when I have predicted all games. Where the goal difference will decide for Warberg’s advantage.
We can calmly confirm that it will be incredibly exciting. And when you like me has one of the teams as a favorite team and is involved in this fight, I of course predict a bit with my heart. But it would be strange otherwise. But Warberg are in a bad position and really need to beat Karlstad on Sunday otherwise they will get a travel pass to the Allsvenska!
Good luck to everyone involved and give us an ending like we have rarely seen!
