Wow, what a deciding SM-semifinal between KAIS Mora and Täby. Not very well-played, not tactical but more go fast or hawaii – call it what you want. It was hard to see which play the coaches had imagined. But it doesn’t matter. The game had so many other things that us TV-viewers liked. Fight, will, black eyes, open play and a big match winner in Mora’s Therése ”Tess” Karlsson. The girl who is playing her twelfth season in the mother club and who scored a total of six points in the evening’s all-or-nothing-game. Wow I write again.
To think that there’s only about a week left of this season. At least for the SSL-teams. SM-finals in Globen 22 April. Except for getting to see two hot games, the event is so much more. Many activities around it and a big part of floorball-Sweden (and from other countries) are there. A people fest simply!
Friday and Kais Mora-Täby on the schedule. That was the thought and that’s how it ended. But before I came home I got to experience a terrible thing. After lunch time I was walking through Stockholm City on my way to a client meeting in the city. In the middle of the meeting a person rushed into the room and told us about the terror attach. Chaos erupted. On the streets tens of thousands of people rushed around, scared, sad, confused. Where were we going to go? How would we make it home? Stranded. It turned out okay for me and my people. Others didn’t have the same luck. My thoughts go to the affected.
Now all semifinal teams on both the men’s and the women’s side are ready. What fantastic semifinals we can look forward to! Most quarterfinal series have been very entertaining and I am reminded of why the playoffs time is the best.
Today’s big news: Karl-Johan Iraeus is ready for the national team! His new role is team- and player-manager. The national team boss Jocke Lindström says this: ”Karl-Johan Iraeus is Swedish national team floorball’s foundation personified. Winning culture, pride and a good representative in one. I am very happy that Kalle has said yes to once again contribute to Swedish floorball”. I can only agree. Serious and meticulous like few others, experienced and merited – it will be really great! It will be exciting to see who else’s name that is filled onto Micke Hill’s leadership staff.
To think that I didn’t prioritize my soccer practice in favor for playoffs floorball. Well, a thigh injury is making itself remembered again so I din’t have a choice. Sure I see all playoffs games – at least the women’s (keeping in ming coming missions and honest interest), but now I didn’t have to see them afterwards halfway into the night.
Yesterday the highlight of the season started – the playoffs. After not losing a single game since the 22nd of October, won the series with seven points and also getting the tournament title after a convincing victory against Piranha Chur in the final, the feeling in the team is definitely good. Some could say that we are riding some kind of success wave. I would rather say that we reap after hard work.
Now it feels like it’s between 4 teams for who’s going to have to leave the SSL after this season, Höllviken, Warberg, Karlstad, Team Thorengruppen. And it will be a race all the way to the finish line and maybe it will be the goal difference that will decide it all. Is it counted before their meetings? I have to dig a little deeper into that. Sirius, Dalen, Storvreta and AIK should of course not feel safe that are above, but with 12-14 points ahead they should be fine. So which two teams will have to leave the SSL? I will try to predict that.
